Weigh in Week 7

Loss of 800 grams this week
I seem to have an obvious trend going on...big loss one week followed by a mediocre loss
Glad to have lost that much though as I came down with a nasty sore throat and cold this week which left me very unmotivated and tired
I felt something coming on on Sunday when I could not muster up any energy at Zumba...was a waste of a class really
Couldn't get out of bed on Monday either...and felt quite lazy and annoyed at myself for sitting on the couch all day
Stopped feeling sorry for myself yesterday though and managed to burn 250 cals on the treadmill followed by 500 cals at Zumba
I also got my new Polar FT7 HRM which I absolutely love! Certainly makes a huge difference in my workouts when I know how hard I am working
Went to the gym bright and early this morning and burnt 450 cals...was not going to leave until I reached at least 400!
Off to step class tonight.

Total weight lost in the past 7 weeks = 8.2kg!
Since Preseason- 10.5

Very happy with my results so far
at this rate, there's no reason why I shouldnt reach my ultimate goal of 55kg by my 25th birthday at the end of January!

In exactly 4 weeks, I'll be jetting off to Europe, so if I can lose at least another 3-4kg I'll be over the moon!!

32 days...

Until I'm off to Europe!
I cannot wait. These past 6 weeks, I have worked my ass off to be as fit as I can be for my travels
I'm headed to Malta for 6 weeks, but I'd also like to do some travelling while I'm there
I've had my eye on a few different tours, but finally booked one yesterday...

A trek through the 5 villages of the Cinque Terre in Italy!

Yes, you read correctly...a TREK!
Some days we could be hiking for up to 8 hours =S

I'm a bit nervous, but I decided to suck it up and set myself a challenge
Plus, I'm sure views like below will be well worth the trek!

I don't think I will train for the trek, but I will be working extra hard to increase stamina and endurance

Yesterday, I did a total of 4 hours at the gym over the day! 12WBT workout in the morning, cardio and weights during the day at our work gym and then a double of combat and zumba at night

If that doesn't kill me, then I'm sure the trek will be a breeze :P

Perspective

I am absolutely loving life at the moment and am on such a high
But there are times where I still struggle with fat days and feeling sorry for myself
So I started rummaging through all my old photos and came across this beauty

In three years, I have lost 50kg

Week 6 Weigh In... Half Way Mark!!

I am so fricken happy this morning
Weighed in at 77.3kg...That's a whopping 1.8kg loss!
I am absolutely loving this program
Based on my bodymedia data, If I continue to lose at this rate (Avg 1.2kg p/week) I should get close to 70kg by Malta in week 11!
Ummm yess!!!!
Let's keep moving!

Sneaky weigh in!!

Decided that a mid-week weigh in is appropriate
It's far from my multiple times a day weigh in that I was used to

This weigh in was exciting. The scale read 77.9kg! That's 1.2 in 4 days!
Lets hope it stayed that way, or gets better by Wednesday

Now off to Zumba!

Killed it at the gym!

Feeling exhausted but amazing
It's been a long day today
Woke up at 4am to drive the parentals to the airport then got back home and had another two hours sleep
Missed this mornings gym session though...but I deserved a bit of slack for having to wake up so early!
It was pouring down rain all day today and I was not in the mood to go to the gym after work
However I sucked it up and JFDI!
I used to enjoy body combat but hasn't been in a while, so I decided to give that a shot again
Zumba is straight after, and I would have felt guilty if the trainer saw me at combat but didn't sty for Zumba
So I stayed, and burned 1025 calories by doing so!
Felt exhausted, but so worth it
Think I'm going to be doing the double classes every Thursday and I normally don't reach 1000 cals when I attempt the SSS

Week 5 Weigh In

Bit disappointed with myself this week
Lost 700 grams and I know it's because of my food choices on Saturday at Chinese and the fact that I decided to have a few drinks
I know this is a lifestyle change rather than a diet, and I do enjoy a few drinks, so cutting out alcohol forever does not seem achievable. However, I shouldn't have had those drinks.
I also admit that I didn't exercise as much as I normally do.

Oh well, new week means another opportunity to kill it!

Current weight: 79.1kg

Another red flag day

Last night my sister and I caught up with friends we had met on Contiki in America back in November. We'd decided to grab dinner before drinks and someone suggested a dumpling house in Chinatown. I admit I had a little freak out because I didn't know what to expect calorie wise with Chinese food, but I didn't want to be a party pooper so I went. Did lots of research beforehand to get an estimate of the healthiest food/alcohol options and thought I would bein control. Turned up to the dumpling house and was informed that it was an all you can eat banquet. I've never had Chinese food before, so I didn't know what to expect. Of course, all we got were dumplings, fried spring rolls, bread puddings, noodles, rice and pumpkin cakes. None of it seemed healthy, but it was my only option and I was starving. Although it was finger food, I know I overdid it on that junk. I felt gross afterwards and hated that I didn't speak up and suggest another restaurant. I wasn't planning on drinking, but again...didn't want to be the party pooper. Didn't go overboard on the drinks though. Two glasses of white wine and a glass of vodka water...yep I got a few odd looks from the bartenders, but vodka and plain old water isn't actually that bad with a squeeze of lemon or lime!
Good thing about the whole night is that we walked a lot. The rooftop bar we went to was on the eighth floor and the elevator was way too slow to wait!

Best thing I did today was waking up early and heading straight to Zumba. I normally would have slept in and sat on the couch all day, however I do not want yesterday's bad food choices ruin my streak of 1kg losses!

Not feeling it this week

I don't know what's going on, but I just cannot be bothered this week
Mentally, I'm not in. However my body just seems to get up and do what it needs to do
As much as I was so tempted to sleep in the last few days, I JFDI and got up and went straight to the gym
I was so so so exhausted last night and kept contemplating whether I should/need to go to zumba last night...I still went, but I did not work as hard as I normally do.
Maybe it's because I'd been chasing those 70's for such a long time that I feel the need to reward myself with a break? I don't know, but I'm not settling for 79.8kg. I can't afford to slack off now.
Maybe it's because it's that time of the month?
Maybe because it's bloody freezing outside?
I think of as many excuses as possible, but whether I worked hard or not, I'm still pretty proud of myself for pushing through and doing what I need to do
I have been quite peckish lately though and have exceeded my calories a little (between 50-100 extra calories a day). However I am still entering all those calories into myfitnesspal and am still wearing my bodymedia band to ensure that my calorie deficit is still about 1100
If I lose between 0.5-1kg next week then I'll be happy

4 Week Mini Milestone

I am so so happy this morning to report that I have passed my mini milestone of losing 3kg, and have lost 4.2kg since start week!
Weighed in at 79.8kg...that's a loss of 1.6kg whilst on holidays!!!
I am so close to my goal of 75 now and I know that I will be there by Europe at the end of July
Have also lost 14cm in total :D

Amazing Weekend!!

Well this weekend was one of the best I've had in a long time
It's amazing how positive I've been feeling since starting the 12WBT and succeeding with it
About a month ago, my sister and I flew up to the Gold Coast to participate in the Color Run. Due to heavy rains, the run was cancelled and was rescheduled for this weekend
I was so looking forward to doing it, so we booked new flights and went up for a night to run it.

For those who don't know what the Color Run is, it is seriously the happiest 5km fun run on earth!! Well that's how they advirtise it anyways, but I certainly agree!
I have never run/walked a 5km fun run before, but the whole concept of it sounded amazing. It's inspired by the Indian colour festival. At each 1km point, volunteers shower you with different coloured powders, and by the end of it, you are covered head to toe in bright colours! My sister and I ran it with a few friends that we'd met in Europe a few years ago. It was the best day of my life!! I was so proud of myself for being able to jog the majority of the course. I felt fit, I felt happy.

BEFORE:
 AFTER!

I am also very very proud of myself for sticking with the 12WBT while away. We flew in Saturday afternoon, so I had my usual oats for breakfast. We didn't get to the Gold Coast until 2:30pm so by then I was starving. There weren't many healthy options once we got to my friends place, so I bought half a sweet chilli chicken wrap. I wouldn't know how many calories were in it, but to be safe, I factored in about 400 cals for lunch. For dinner, we went out to a place called Groove Train. Their menu looked delicious, and I was so tempted to have a delicious pasta meal, but because I didn't know how many calories lunch was, I settled for a grilled calamari salad with dressing on the side. I have never ever asked for dressing on the side!!! After dinner, we went to Max Brenner. Oh Em Gee!! I have never tried Max Brenner before, and I was going to get what I assumed was the healthiest option...a hot chocolate. After much consideration (the line was huge!) I decided that I wasn't going to get anything. This is huge for me! I am a self confessed chocoholic, and it took a lot of "willpower" for me to say no!

On Sunday (race day) I went out and bought an oats sachet and a banana for breakfast. I didn't want to have a heavy breakfast before running. For lunch I chose a subway Veggie Delite Wrap. I love that Subway provide you with the nutritional info!! I also had a vaalia yoghurt for protein. We had lunch quite late, so my sister and I grabbed dinner from the airport. I was a little nervous because Airport food is reknowned to be quite unhealthy, but luckily for me, there was a sumo salad there. They also provide nutritional info. After browsing the calorice content of each item, I noticed that the pea and asparagus risotto was quite low in calories. I don't know how accurate that is though. I assumed that risotto would be quite high in calories, however I chose a small serve of it anyways. According to their nutritional panel, a small serve was only 107 calories!! I also had a small, freshly squeezed strawberry, mango, watermelon and orange juice. I probably ate less than 1200 calories, however I liked that I was in control and always opted for the healthiest options.

I have not felt this good in a long time, and I cannot wait until week 11 when I head off to Europe looking amazing! This week is the 4 week mini milestone, and my goal was to lose 3kg and weigh 81.2kg. At last weeks weigh in, I weighed 81.4kg, so I'm sure that I am going to kill it!! I am so excited to get under 80kgs!
